The Power of a Praying Wife

i have been reading this book as part of my devotional time in the morning and it has been so encouraging to my soul. going into the second month of marriage is fantastic, i am discovering more about Jordan each day and this gives me abundant opportunities to support and love and trust him even more than i already do.

this book aids me as i pray for my husband everyday. i will never underestimate the power of pray founded on faith. i am learning new ways to trust and hope in the Lord every day.

i am also enjoying memorizing the Psalms as part of my church's summer memorization challenge. the challenge is to have Psalm 1 and Psalm 34 memorized by the end of the summer. it is so good to recite the Word of God to yourself.

these are just a few of the ways the Lord has been encouraging me in this new season of life and as i continue to pray for my husband.

"taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. Fear the Lord, you his saints, for those who fear him lack nothing." Psalm 34:8-9

first month of marital bliss

i have been married for a month and let me just say it is awesome! i married my best friend and it is such a joy to share our lives together by the grace of God. the Lord has truly blessed me with a loving, adoring, gorgeous, funny, godly man. i love him with my whole heart as was witnessed by dear family and loved ones June 18th; truly the most beautiful and perfect day of my life.

i am excited to begin this new stage of life as Jordan's wife. i can't express to you how grateful we have been to the Lord in providing everything we need as we have been moving into our new apartment. the generosity of people astonishes me. i could not be more thankful.

just wait and see what i have done to our quaint, cozy apartment! i am very proud to have made this place a home, and look forward to future projects that will only add personality and character to the space. i will post pictures soon detailing how i have decorated so far. also a quick peek at the various gifts people have given us that, quiet frankly, was so ingenious i don't know what we would have done without them.

an introduction of life then and now

hello lovlies. excuse my lack of posts but i was on my honeymoon! i am a married women now and loving it. when thinking about what topic to publish next for this blog i thought i should do an introductory post. since i am changing my name - what a process by the way - i will reintroduce myself and the purpose for this beautiful blog.

i am sushi-loving, soft spoken lover of pink. i was born in milwaukee, wisconsin, but moved to indiana when i was 2 and have been raised here ever since. i moved a lot growing up, mostly around Indianapolis. i attended a classical christian school for 7 years and graduated there. after high school i was on a desperate search for my calling in life; i always enjoyed writing so i went to college in Ft. Wayne with a Writing major. i only stayed there 3 semesters because it was stupid expensive. upon my return home i enrolled in a local Bible college and graduated with a degree only two months prior. during this time i reconnected with a friend from high school. (we secretly liked each other all through school but never did anything about it.) we were friends for 3 months, dated for 14 months and engaged for 7 months. it was basically the best two years of my life.

we got married June 18th, the most perfect and beautiful day of my life. i look forward to spending the rest of my life with him. i am also blessed to have family nearby whom i love dearly.
i have had too many jobs to mention here, but right now i work at Macy's as a merchandiser. i enjoy the discounts but not being scheduled to work at the ungodly hour of 4am. my husband, Jordan, works at a restaurant and reads sci-fi in his spare time. when we are not working we like to watch  zombie movies and play rummy - right now i am winning.

what i wish for this blog is to express my love of life through the lens of a newlywed. i have been so blessed, the Lord is good indeed.
